Home Made Potato Wedges



Catherine says “As well as improving the flavour of foods, spices also pack a good nutritional punch that can be very beneficial for health. In addition to this, the increased flavour eliminates the need to add salt to dishes.
This recipe takes a kid favourite and makes it count nutritionally. The wedges are baked rather than fried and the spice coating adds flavour and nutrients. Coriander is very good for digestion and is often referred to as the ‘anti-diabetic’ plant for its effect on blood sugar. Cumin is also very beneficial for digestion, particularly nutrient absorption and helps to clean up toxins that are circulating in the body. Paprika stimulates the mucous membranes in the nose and sinuses, so is a really useful spice to eat during a head cold or sinus infection.
Leaving the potato skins on the wedges increases fibre and vitamin C intake.”
